چکیده

Lensing galaxies, unlike other samples of galaxies, are selected based on their masses and mass profile, rather than their colors or surface brightnesses. Therefore, gravitational lensing allows us to select galaxies based on their mass rather than their light, even at high redshift, without the need for medium resolution spectroscopy. Unfortunately, lensing by galaxy mass objects produces lensed sources with image separation of the order of 1” and a large fraction of the lensed sources by galaxies are unresolved using typical seeing-limited ground based observations. In this white paper we outline the need for a homogeneous lensed quasar study and we argue that this can be achieved using a new observational paradigm namely the use of relatively low-cost Adaptive Optics (AO) systems mounted on 2m class telescopes. We note that such instruments will have impact also ob galaxy-galaxy lensing studies.

Evaluation of New MOND Interpolating Function with Rotation Curves of Galaxies

The rotation curves of a sample of 46 low- and high-surface brightness galaxies are considered in the context of Milgrom's modi_ed dynamics (MOND) to test a new interpolating function proposed by Zhao et al. (2010) [1] and compare with the results of simple interpolating function. The predicted rotation curves are calculated from the total baryonic matter based on the B-band surface photometry,...

Stellar Populations in the Central Galaxies of Fossil Groups

It is inferred from the symmetrical and luminous X-ray emission of fossil groups that they are mature, relaxed galaxy systems. Cosmological simulations and observations focusing on their dark halo and inter-galactic medium properties confirm their early formation. Recent photometric observations suggest that, unlike the majority of non-fossil brightest group galaxies (BGGs), the central early-t...

Probing the Coevolution of Supermassive Black Holes and Quasar Host Galaxies

At low redshift, there are fundamental correlations between the mass of supermassive black holes (MBH) and the mass (Mbulge) and luminosity of the host galaxy bulge. We investigate the same relation at z & 1. Using virial mass estimates for 15 quasars at z & 2 to measure their black hole mass, we find that black holes at high-z fall nearly on the same MBH versus R-band magnitude (MR) relation (...

Semantic Reconstruction of Beauty and Makeup for Young Females: The Phenomenological Study

The concept of beauty is closely linked to gender in contemporary society; in this study, the concept of beauty was explored by the use of phenomenological techniques. For this purpose, an in-depth semi-structured interview was conducted among 35 young female students in Tehran. the sample of study was chosen by theoretical sampling model and the interviews were continued up to the point of  ga...

AGN Zoo and Classications of Active Galaxies

We review the variety of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) classes (so-calledAGN zoo") and classification schemes of galaxies by activity types based on their optical emission-line spectrum, as well as other parameters and other than optical wave-length ranges. A historical overview of discoveries of various types of active galaxies is given, including Seyfert galaxies, radio galaxies, QSOs, BL Lace...
